Class Detail - Water Distribution
Class time: 8:00 am - 5 pm (Day 1 - 2) & 8:00 am - 12pm (Day 3) to ensure 20 hours of instruction.

The Water Distribution course provides a brief review of the water cycle and presented together with a general description of the responsibilities of water system personnel and the need for regulation of the water utility industry to protect public health, safety and welfare. The source, characteristics, production, treatment and disinfection of potable water is presented together with a more detailed description of water storage, pumping and distribution. Topics covered range from water distribution system hydraulics, mains, and valves to hydrants, pumps, motors, and maintenance issues associated with overall water systems. Students also receive a refresher surrounding water distribution systems, sources, and specific characteristics of water. This course meets the core course and elective requirements for other water operator licenses.
